First, Elaine’s query is over at The QQQE today with Matt’s review coming tomorrow. Pop over there and get a sample of her brilliance. 🙂
Second, Rosalyn had her baby (YAY!!!) but he arrived 2 1/2 months early and while things are going well so far, we would love extra prayers being sent to her and her baby boy.
And now for the post. Music.
I am a music junky. I have it playing all the time. My new love is Grace Potter and the Nocturnals – can’t get enough of them right now.
I used to hear people talk about playlists that they would use to inspire or help with character development and I didn’t really think about it much until I was struggling writing the relationship between two of my characters and they sounded like high school drama students reciting lines from a play for the first time – ultimate flat. Enter Jason Mraz’s I Won’t Give Up and when I heard the lyrics, the characters started fleshing out better. It just clicked.
Have you had music help with your writing?
I just wrote a blog post about how music has been inspiring my new WIP. Usually I can't listen to music while I write, but this time music is helping me to shape my characters and to get in touch with the mood of my story. It's been fun so far!

I think I could listen to music before writing, but I would be too easily distracted if I listened to music with words while writing. I know a writer who loves opening up rainymood.com while writing. (Just a gentle, ongoing rain sound effect.) Great post, Tasha!
